Junior Winter Group Coaching - Term 2, 2025

We strongly encourage our juniors to keep playing & having coaching all year around so they keep progressing through our pathway groups with more confidence in their tennis skills, especially Orange, Green and Interclub level players. This leads into our competition groups. Tennis is the kind of sport that needs constant and regular practice in order to keep seeing improvements.

Our Winter Coaching is on a user-pay basis (not included with their annual membership) and all SHTC juniors receive a 20% discount on their group fees.

The last (7th) week of the term is for ONLY for any make-up classes, in case we have had to cancel any due to weather or any unforeseen circumstances.

If we need to cancel any sessions due to weather, this is posted on the club's Facebook page as soon as we know that we won't be able to run it (normally 10-15 mins before the start)

HOT SHOTS PROGRAM

For our Hotshots players, there are weekday options as well as Saturday mornings, just like during the summer.

Note: Most players will stay in the same coloured group as they were in Term 1. If we need to make any changes and move a player up, we will contact parents directly. If any group doesn't have the minimum number of players signed up, we will contact parents before the first lesson. Please also read carefully our T & Cs here.

WEEKDAY OPTION

If you child was attending:

Mondays 3.45pm (Red A) or 4.30pm (Red B) in term 1, coaching in term 2 will be Mondays 3.45pm for both groups for ONE hour
Wednesdays 3.45pm (Orange) in term 1, coaching in term 2 will be Wednesdays 3.45pm (same time & day)
Wednesdays 4.45pm (Green) in term 1, coaching in term 2 will be Wednesdays 4.45pm (same time & day)

WEEKEND OPTION

If your child was attending: Saturdays 8am (Red A) or 8.45am (Red B) in term 1, coaching in term 2 will be Saturdays 9am for both groups for ONE hour.
Saturdays 9.30am (Orange) in term 1, coaching in term 2 will be Saturdays 10am (30mins later than T1)
Saturdays 10.30am (Green) in term 1, coaching in term 2 will be Saturdays 11am (30mins later than T1)

Note: We'll be running all group classes over King's Birthday & Matariki

FEW THINGS TO NOTE:

There will be no Friday club nights/match-play during the winter terms.
All coaching will start in WEEK #2 of term 2 (Monday 5th May onwards). This is due to work on the new floodlights taking place throughout week 1 of term 2.

PRICES:

Junior club member: $140 , Non-member: $180. Term will start from May 5th and will run for SEVEN consecutive weeks. Last week in the term will be for any make-up classes from cancellations earlier in the term.
If your child attends TWICE a week group coaching, you'll receive an additional $30 OFF, on top of the member discount

FOR INTERCLUB LEVEL PLAYERS

For our Interclub-level players, there are different weekday training options.

We strongly encourage our players to keep practicing & taking coaching all year around so they keep improving their tennis skills. Tennis is the kind of sport that needs constant and regular practice in order to keep seeing improvements. Also, teams for summer interclub are normally based on the level, experience, ranking/grade and overall ability of each player.

Note: If any group doesn't have the minimum number of players signed up we will contact parents before the first lesson. Please also read carefully our T & Cs here.

In Term 1, if your child was attending:

Any of the Tuesday groups, all coaching times will remain the same as term 1, and on the same day
Monday 5.15pm group. Please let us know you're interested in registering your child and we'll advise which time slot is the most suitable out of the Tuesday ones.
Thursday 4 or 5pm, the new coaching time will be 5pm

COACHING SCHEDULE

Tuesdays

Beginner Interclub (Competitive) 3:45-4:45pm
Beginner Interclub/First Term Open Interclub (Competitive) 4:45-5:45pm
Open Interclub - 12's to 14's (Competitive) 5:45-6:45pm
Open Interclub - 16's to 18's (Competitive) 6:45-7:45pm

Thursdays

Social/Non-Competitive 10's and older 5:00-6:00pm
